Gabriel Guimaraes (he/him) is an up-and-coming Brazilian-American television writer and producer who recently graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television. Inspired by showrunners Shonda Rhimes, Alex Garland, and Rod Serling, Gabe has always appreciated the careful structure of serialized content. Using empathy as the engine behind his stories, Gabe strives to deliver compelling, emotionally-honest drama that authentically gives life to queer and latinx characters.

Colin Sevely-Ortiz (he/they) is a Cuban-American writer and director from Los Angeles with a BFA in Film and Television from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Colin takes inspiration from the work of directors Xavier Dolan, Jane Schoenbrun, and Steven Soderbergh, and is dedicated to crafting stylish and emotional films that explore the intersections of identity, sexuality, and technology.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Radley Docekal (she/her) is an emerging writer and producer who recently received her BFA in Film and TV from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. While her writing is influenced by creators like Jenji Kohan, Taika Waititi, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, she is passionate about all aspects of storytelling from concept to execution. Radley's writing explores mental health, queer identities, and family dynamics through a bracing comedic style. Radley, having received a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies, also enjoys creating content for younger audiences.

Benjy Berkowitz
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Benjy Berkowitz (he/him) is a director of photography based in NYC who has recently graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and is currently working as a freelance cinematographer. Benjy loves finding the best way to tell a story visually, working from the script up. Some of his influences include Robert Elswit, Bradford Young and Sven Nykvist.

Jaap Deinum
PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Jaap Deinum (he/him) is a Chinese-Dutch production designer and producer with a BFA in Film and Television from New York University. He especially finds joy in repurposing broken or forgotten pieces of things to construct surreal and lively environments that best serve a project’s story. After having had various experiences on both student and professional TV pilot sets, he currently works at a management company to assist diverse talent with their craft, but still produces and production designs projects with strong narratives wherever he can.

Ashley Lai (she/her) is an editor and sound mixer who recently received her BFA in Film and Television from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She began editing in elementary school and hasn’t stopped since! With her love for crafting stories in the editing room, she hopes that Humanized leaves the audience wanting more.

Alexandra Funes-Salazar (she/her) is a Salvadoran composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in NYC. Her works include compositions for media and concert music, as well as commercial songwriting. Her music is recognized for its unique combination of orchestral, acoustic, and pop genres.

Margot Sibson
SOUND DESIGNER
Margot Sibson (she/her) is a sound designer, editor, and filmmaker. Following a lifelong love for film and all the sounds in her favorite sci-fi movies, she honed her skills in editing and sound design while achieving her BFA in Film and Television at NYU. When she isn’t looking for a new period drama to watch, she’s probably making music with friends or collecting sounds in the city with her field recorder.

CASTING DIRECTOR
Keaton Mykleby (he/him) is a senior in Tisch Film and TV with a passion for all the possibilities television can offer. Having a background in actor’s training, Keaton approached the casting director’s role knowing well that the importance of performance cannot be understated. The drive, tenacity, and wonder that each cast member brought to their craft proves that all the hard work was worth it and then some. He’ll never forget the feelings of love and trust on set, and would give anything to experience the journey all over again.

Aliyah Dominique Jefferies (she/her) is a 22-year-old filmmaker, photographer, and artist. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Aliyah strives to create an open and safe space for creativity with every project she works on, while also fostering deep connections through collaboration. In 2021, she graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television Production and a B. in English with a Creative Writing concentration. Currently, she is based in New York City and currently works as an NBCUniversal Page.

Imani Thomas
LOCATION MANAGER
Imani Thomas (she/her) is a rising artist who recently graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with her BFA in Film and Television. Since childhood, Imani has had a knack for storytelling -- she has always been enthralled by the delicate detail used to not only captivate an audience in a unique way, but to also allow people to find pieces of themselves within the story. Having lived in New York her entire life, she has fallen in love with the diversity of its people and is inspired to tell stories throughout her career that represent and embody the diversity of humanity.

Malcolm Quinn Silver-Van Meter
“ROBBIE”
Malcolm Quinn Silver-Van Meter (he/him) is an actor, screenwriter, and director based in New York City and Vermont. Beyond Humanized, he has worked in recent years on projects with filmmakers including Christine Choy, Matthew Heineman, and Bill Oliver. In 2021, he received a Sloan Screenwriting Grant for his script “Vemork,” currently in development as a miniseries. In July 2022, he was one of six nominated for the Sloan Student Grand Jury Prize. He directs his next short film, a coming-of-age story set in 1950s New York, in spring 2023.

Jessica Krueger
“LETICIA”
Jessica Krueger (she/her) is an actor-dancer-acrobat-puppeteer. As a live performer, she's tread the boards of many NYC theaters, from The Metropolitan Opera House to the Hudson Yards' subway station, and toured North America and Japan. She can also be seen on FBI (CBS), Dead of Winter (Discovery ID), and The Last Days... (History Channel). A native of Detroit, Jessica holds a Bachelors in Anthropology and a professional degree from Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Key Taw (she/they) is trained in the Meisner Method as well as in the Stonestreet Screen Acting program at NYU Tisch Drama. She also writes, produces, and performs experimental pop music under the name CyberFairy. Key strives to unapologetically imbue all of her work with herself, and hopes to provide much needed representation for the next generations of trans artists.

Will McMahan (he/him) is an actor and graduate of NYU Tisch/Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Will has appeared in numerous stage productions, Zoom productions, and short films. Recent credits include Jimberto in Sonam’s Gift (New York Theater Festival), Narrator B in a spec for The Melacast Network, Todd/Judge/Medical Examiner in Still Born (Stella Adler Studio), and Aumerle in Richard II (Stella Adler Studio).

Marshall Bonny (he/him) is an actor and hip hop musician from Brooklyn, NY by way of Hollis, Queens. As a graduate of the William Esper Studio, and trained in the Meisner technique, he asserts that acting is "doing truthfully, under imaginary circumstances". Aside from his role in Humanized, he can also be seen in the film Used and Borrowed Time as "Weldon Johnson".

Kyle Minshew (he/him) is an accomplished theater actor with over 35 productions in New York City. His film and television credits include The Cathedral with Brian D’Arcy James (Venice/Sundance), Life Sucks, Left Of The Dial (Roku TV), Rise Of Hollywood (CuriosityStream) and HERE TV’s (formerly LOGO) upcoming dramatic series GO GO.

An environmentalist, you can find her in her organic pollinator and native plant gardens when she is not acting.

Norah Hoffmann (she/her) is a German-American actress who grew up in the US, Switzerland, and Germany. After graduating from the Berlin Conservatory for Performing Arts, Norah was part of multiple theater and film productions. Credits go to Feet Back, Perfect Town (Kupferhaus Theater), Night Watch, How to Get Away with Murder (John Bourne Theater) and film/tv productions like My Hostel (Pilot), Le Briefcase, Now Boarding (Pilot) and the award-winning short, Cookie Heart. Besides acting, Norah is a huge science nerd, loves fries, and Krav Maga.
